About Qvale Auto Group

The Qvale Auto Group holds a rich history of over 70 years in the automotive industry, dating all the way back to 1947. It was first founded by Kjell Qvale, when he was the first to import MG sports cars to the west coast. Later on, he added Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Lotus, De Tomaso and Maserati. Today, the group is run by Kjell's son, Bruce Qvale, and the group owns and operates 12 stores across the nation, including Livermore Audi, Livermore Honda, Livermore Subaru, Livermore Porsche, Land Rover Livermore, Jaguar Livermore, Land Rover Stevens Creek, Jaguar Stevens Creek, Audi Coral Springs, Audi Lakeland, Audi Ft. Lauderdale and Volkswagen Brandon.

1949

Qvale moves to San Francisco and begins official operation as British Motor Car Distributors,Ltd.

1950

Qvale is named chairman of the first Concours D'Elegance at Del Monte Lodge, Pebble Beach.Today, the Concours is said to be the premier celebration of the automobile.

1970

Qvale buys Jensen Motors in West Bromwich, UK.

2000

Qvale Auto Group continues its legacy of cutting-edge design and begins production of the fabulous new Mangusta in Modena.

In 2002, Qvale Auto Group sold the rights to the Mangusta to Britain's MG Rover Group. The launch of MG Rover Group's flagship model, the MG X power SV was based on the Qvale Mangusta, featuring its structure, suspension, engine and gearbox.
